Project Goal:
A Danish company Biomee makes a Skin Care Series called PAD™. Their products remede inflammatory conditions that cause dry skin. Our team helped integrate the shopping experience into Biomee’s entire website to drive sales.
Wireframes:
My immediate reaction when evaluating the site was that the navigation hierarchy was problematic, and suggested a simple restructure. Originally the ability to make a purchase was given too much priority over other information offered by the site. The users needed to learn more about the products available and their uses before making their decision to buy.
We suggested placing the shopping link at the end of the navigation with a different button treatment. This ensures returning customers can find it quickly, while new customers will use it as an end to their journey after learning the benefits.
We added an interactive quiz at the start of their shopping experience to make the process more engaging and assist new customers in narrow down the exact product that worked for their needs.
Limitations and Constraints:
Wireframes were handed off to an agency in Denmark for the final visual design. We faced communication issues between us at many different steps in the process because of the language barrier. Ultimately, we got things resolved when the right people we in the room, but identifying those individuals was time consuming. This proved to be the most difficult for the developers, as they needed to use a platform that could handle national and international orders, so sharing technical advice was sadly misunderstood.
The client was also persistent on using an out-of-box option that didn’t fit our recommendations. We simply needed a different service to match our wireframes more closely to offer the best experience.
